In the verses of the holy Quran, the human has been addressed with different words and phrases, among them "Bashar" and "Insan" are the most prominent and prevalent phrases which has been applied in Quranic interpretations as the identifier of mankind. Generally, using two separate phrases should comprise an especial message and intention. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences between "Bashar" and "Insan" in the Holy Quran by considering the interpretive sources.
The maim question of this study is whether the two terms "Bashar" and "Insan" have conceptual unity in such a way that both introduce "Adam" as "Abu Al-bashar" and its descendant, it means we all as human beings, as "Bani Adam" or they have conceptual contradiction?
In this article, first each of these words were considered lexically by using content analysis method and then new interpretations of "Bashar" and "Insan" is presented by using Quranic verses as well as new scientific theories and discoveries of paleontologists and their findings regarding to humanoid who lived on earth before today's intelligent man such as Neanderthal,etc.
Finally, it was revealed that "Insan" and "Bashar" have seemingly conceptual distinction and they convey specific meaning.
