Semantics is one of the best ways to study texts. This article seeks to explain the general appearance of angels with a semantic approach. In this research, which has been done using the semantic method of Quranic words, after explaining the meaning and nature of the word angels in the words and opinions of commentators, the Quranic usage of this word and also its accompanying and successive words have been studied. Then, using the rule of context and accuracy in the requirements of the verses, how it is used throughout the Holy Quran is explained.
The findings show that this word in revelative application, on the axis of succession, is place in the same semantic realm with the words Prophet and the modesty of the commandments (Mudabirat- al-amr) and on the axis of coexistence with the words of the soul, the apostle. One of the important results of this study is the revelation of the deep semantic connection of this word with other similar words in the Qur'an.
